Organized in 1956, UUFYS is chartered with the national Unitarian Universalist Association and is a part of the Heartland District of the UUA.
The UUFYS welcomes and celebrates diversity. Individuals of all races, ethnic origins, religious philosophies, and gender/sexual orientations are included and supported.

So far in 2025, UUFYS members have hosted the annual Yellow Springs campout at Tar Hollow, attended Yellow Springs Pride and attended the UUA General Assembly. UUFYS has donated money and contributed time and resources to at least 6 local charities and social action groups. Sundays we have tackled discussions on a variety of ways to be more fully human, including:

For some within Unitarian Universalism, there are seven Principles which reflect deeply held values and serve as a moral guide. The wisdom and spirituality of these Principles are drawn from sources as diverse as science, poetry, scripture, and personal experience.
These seven Principles are as follows:
1st Principle: The inherent worth and dignity of every person.
2nd Principle: Justice, equity and compassion in human relations.
3rd Principle: Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations.
4th Principle: A free and responsible search for truth and meaning.
5th Principle: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.
6th Principle: The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all.
7th Principle: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
Love is the spirit of this Fellowship,
